Fitapreta Branco Ancestral is a white wine crafted by António Maçanita from indigenous varieties Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Trincadeira das Pratas, Alicante Branco, and Arinto, grown in old vineyards located in the Alentejo region of Portugal. This wine honors the ancestral formula of Alentejo whites by reviving historic grape varieties, now nearly extinct, cultivated organically in small, granite-soiled plots, without irrigation or herbicides. Grapes are meticulously harvested by hand at night, preserving their aromatic purity and natural freshness.
Displaying a pale lemon-yellow hue, Fitapreta branco captivates with intense citrus notes and a refreshing mineral edge, expressing the true essence of its granitic terroir. The palate reveals surprising volume and texture that gracefully expand mid-palate, supported by vibrant acidity that enhances its freshness and complexity. The finish is persistent, leaving behind a delightful fruit-driven aftertaste that invites another sip. This expressive white pairs exquisitely with grilled fish, fresh seafood, and chicken salads. A wine with a distinctive personality, Fitapreta branco embodies the traditional identity of the Alentejo region in a pure, authentic, and contemporary style.
