For over a century, the Sassetti family has cultivated some of the best vineyards in Montalcino in terms of exposure and soil characteristics.
The Pertimali property is located in one of the most important crus in the area, the Montosoli hill, on the northern side of Montalcino, an area particularly favourable to the cultivation of Sangiovese.
Today, Lorenzo Sassetti, Livio’s son and an accomplished winemaker, runs the company together with his wife Sabina.
Over the years, Lorenzo has worked to renovate and expand the vineyards, preserving the genetic heritage of the old vines and preserving their original characteristics. In keeping with the family philosophy, Lorenzo manages the winery sustainably, favoring practices that minimize intervention in the vineyard.
Driven by a deep interest in viticulture, Lorenzo acquired two estates in some of Italy’s most renowned wine-producing regions: Maremma Toscana and Valdobbiadene.
The cornerstones of his work have always been respect for the terroir and the valorization of native grape varieties. His wines are deeply rooted in the land, traditional, and endowed with great balance and finesse.
