In the late 1980’s husband and wife Gianni and Laura Brunelli gave up their successful Sienna restaurant to return to Gianni’s hometown of Montalcino. They turned their hands to winemaking after taking over the Le Chiuse di Sotto estate from Gianni’s father and soon gained a reputation of making some of the most expressive wines in the region.
In 2008 Gianni sadly passed and since then Laura has managed the family wine estate including taking the role of winemaker. Now managing 6.5Ha spread over 4 vineyards Laura’s wines continue to set the benchmark for the region with their trademark elegance and finesse.
