Bodega Garzón is a family-owned winery in Maldonado, on the Atlantic coast in southern Uruguay. They pioneered viticulture in this area over 10 years ago and have since become the standard-bearer for premium Uruguayan wines. In November 2018, their pioneering status was recognised by Wine Enthusiast with the ‘New World Winery of the Year’ award.
Bodega Garzón’s Single Vineyard wines showcase the best examples of each variety grown at the estate. Their Tannat, Uruguay’s signature variety, is rich and full-bodied with flavours of spicy black plums and tobacco. The 2020 vintage was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge (the only Uruguayan wine to receive this award), as well as a 95-point score.
