Xanadu is a true pioneer of Margaret River. Irish doctor John Lagan arrived in the region in 1968 and, captivated by its pioneering spirit, planted his first vines with his wife Eithne in 1977, naming the property after the idyllic paradise of Coleridge’s Kubla Khan.
True to its poetic namesake, the setting is idyllic: 65 hectares of sustainably farmed vines near the Indian Ocean, producing fresh, vibrant coastal wines. Winemaker Glenn Goodall joined in 1999 and has led Xanadu to the front rank of Australian wine, winning the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 2018 and being named Halliday’s Best Winemaker of the Year in 2023.
