Château Miraval is located in the wild and picturesque Provençal village of Correns, France’s first 100% organic commune. Tucked away in its own private valley, the Château is surrounded by organic ancient woodlands and olive groves. In 2012, owner Brad Pitt partnered with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel fame to oversee wine production at the estate. Their continued dedication to improving quality, in both the vineyards and the cellar, has seen the wines go from strength to strength, with Château Miraval today considered one of the great winemaking names of Provence.

Château Miraval comprises 50 hectares of terraced vineyards, planted 350 metres above sea level, resulting in cool nights that moderate warm days and allow grapes to retain their delicate aromas and crisp acidity. The clay and chalk soils at Miraval are also crucial for quality, helping regulate water supply to the vines so they have water when they need it and drainage when they don’t. During harvest, the grapes are hand-picked in the cool temperatures of early morning, before being hand-sorted twice to ensure only the best grapes go into the final wine, which blends Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle (aka Vermentino) and Syrah.

All the grapes for the Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé are gently pressed to extract just the right amount of colour, except for the Syrah, which is vinified using the saignée method. Each variety is fermented separately in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks, before being blended post-fermentation.
